a. Note:   Mary Ann died after 1880 but nothing is known about where she is buried, however there is an unmarked burial plot in the cemetery at West point, Georgia that was purchases by Ransom Wood; there are two concrete slabs side by side, that could be Ransom and his wife and another off to the side in this plot that could very well be Mary Ann. Her son Matthew and his family are buried next to this plot. The story is told in our family that Alice Wood, when she was to young to travel otherwise, was put on a train with a ticket and name tag around her neck and sent to West Point to help take care of Mary Ann, shortly before her death. Nothing was said as to whether she remained until Mary Ann died or not.
