Note: Ransom served in Co. I, 20th Georgia Inf. (Southern Guards). He enlisted in Muscogee County, Georgia, May 23 1861. He was appointed 3rd. Seargent Sept. 1, 1861. He was wounded at Chicamauga, Georgia Sept. 20, 1863 and elected 2nd. Lieutenant, Nov. 1863. He was on furlow Dec. 28, 1864, no later record. This furlow was probably because of his father's death. Ransom and family are buried in Pinewood Cemetery, West Point, Georgia.
