a. Note:   Edward was found on census in Humphry County, TN in 1820, in Hardin county in 1830 and in McNairy in 1840. Edward served in Captain Peter Searcy's Co., 1st. Reg's Tenn. Militia, War of 1812, as a substitute for William Clayton. He deserted from Fort Jackson September 20, 1814 and returned October 12, 1814. In 1850 Elizabeth Pickett was listed as head of the house and was living by her son George W. Pickett in the 12th District of McNairy County, Tenn. At least three of Edward's children came to Ouachita County, Arkansas, namely James M. Pickett, Eliza Jane Pickett; who had married James M. Stinnett and George W. Pickett.
