a. Note:   Thomas died before January 29, 1858; date of Administration of his estate; in what is now Schley County, Georgia: then Sumpter County. A compleat settlement of his estate can be found at Americus, Georgia. Their home was in Land Lot # 154 of District 29 of Schley County, near Andersonville, home of the infamous Confederate Prison. Three of his surviving son's and one daughter came to Arkansas after the Civil War. Legend says that there was a killing that caused the sons to come and that John and Hannah Wood came later to be near her brothers. Returns for the estate from January 27,1858 to December 31,1858 inclusive; cost $812. 95 balance due $1466.79. Returns for January 1 to December 31, 1859 inclusive; cost $494.93 balance due $3715. 48. One item dated December 7, 1859, from sale of land and negro $2,730.37 The last entry found was dated June 23, 1863.
