a. Note:   There is a pension record for George W. McMurrain in Little Rock, Arkansas. He said that he served in Co. A. 20th. Georgia Cav. from 1863 to 1865. The pension was approved Aug. 7, 1916. His widow's was approved Aug 14, 1917. They were both from Howard County. George is buried at Amity Cemetery near Nashville, Ark. This cemetery in 1988 was overgrown with timber and was all but lost, there was no sign of care in the past several years. Daisy (McMurrain) Mitchem and Homer McMurrain, children of George are also buried there. The last three Children belong to George's second wife Alice.
