a. Note:   Jackie Robinson, of Rogersville, TN, found these Whites buried in the Huff Cemetery, Cocke Co., TN. Elisha White, died February 1894. Nancy White, (wife of Elisha) died 1910 Lindy White born 1889 died 1931 Mary Jane White 1860-1938 William White 1863-1932 In a Bible that belonged to William Solomon White and given to Don Niethamer, the entries of William Solomon are "Buntin" and it is entered several times throughout. There are Buntins older than W.S. listed in the Book but the relationship is not clear. One is W.H. Bunting, born March 10, 1842. Mary Jane Buntin was born Sept. 2, 1860. James William Buntin was born March 25, 1894, but this could possibly a typigraphical error and may be 1794. My reason for thinking this is it is written on the first page of the family record, in very good writing, directly beneath the entry of W.S. Bunting was born May 5, 1863. It gives me the idea that it was presented to William Solomon Buntin as a gift from a church or a minister. Elisha/Elijah White raised William and William went by the last name of White. We have not found any documentation to show if Mr. White legally adopted Wm. And we have no documentation to show who W.S.'s birth parents are.
