I saw your Taylor Family information on the Davis Co., IA website and also on Ancestry.com. I think we may have a connection. A Sarah/Sally Roby married William Taylor 19 April 1815 in Franklin County, OH. They bought land next to Sarah's father Hezekiah Roby in Walnut Township, Fairfield Co. and then sold the land to him in 1824. I lost them after that but then found a website a few years ago referring to a Hezekiah Roby Taylor in Troy, IA. and thought that his name was more than just a coincidence. Unfortunately I didn't follow up and when I went back, the website was gone. Also I found Hezekiah Roby's 1852 Will which mentions daughter Sarah Taylor and husband William Taylor. (Sarah's sister Rachel Roby married John Taylor in Fairfield Co., OH in 1826) Sarah was living with the Locke Family as of 1880 and had listed her birthplace as Virginia and her father's birthplace as Maryland which fits with the information I have. wallace@iols.net

Note:   (Research):Hello, I wanted to let you know that my uncle, daughter, and I spent a couple hours looking for your request tonight. We did come across a large stone with the name "ROBY". However, there was no name or information of any kind engraved on it. We also came across a few "Locke" but no Mary. I am really sorry we could not have been of more help. -Sorry- T.Strait 05/31/11
