Note: . Edward2 Bryden (Robert1) was born 1774 in Scotland, and died in Nova Scotia. He married (1) Susannah Archibald 1801 in Truro, NS, daughter of John Archibald and Margaret Fisher. She was born November 18, 1783 in Truro, Col.Co., NS, and died September 1808 in Truro, Col.Co., NS. He married (2) Eleanor Taylor March 14, 1810 in St. Mary's Guysboro Co., NS, daughter of John Taylor and Nancy Archibald. She was born December 10, 1789 in Musquodoboit, Hal. Co., NS, and died in Nova Scotia. Susannah, born November 18, 1783; married Edward Bryden. They had two daughters, Margaret Jane and Susannah. Susannah Archibald died September 1808 of consumption (tuberculosis) while her husband was in jail for debt. On the way to the cemetery for burial, her body was taken into the jail so he might have a last sight of the remains of his beloved wife........ Her children were still babies. In her father's will, he left to her two children the sum of &10 each. In the settlement of the estate they also received equally divided between them, the sum of &13.12s.6p, the appraised value of undisposed land.
