Notes
a. Note:   Hi Pat, Last year I ended up in contact with Lou (and Judith) Norwood from Australia. I contacted him he had a family tree on Ancestry.com (his user name on Ancestry.com is Toronto69) because Betty was doing some research on James George Taylor who have moved to Australia. I introduced him to Betty and they have exchanged some emails and documents. I've not been in contact with him for a while the last email address that I had for him is: loun@iinet.net.au . My first exchange: Hi Toronto69, Betty Taylor Aube is a wonderful lady who is doing family research on the Taylor family from Nova Scotia, Canada. She is looking for information on the family of James George Taylor who moved from Nova Scotia to Australia and married Annie Louisa Toovey. One of their daughters was Bertha May Tylor. I was doing some research on Ancestry.com for Betty as she doesn't have a subscription and saw the terrific information that you have on the Bertha May Tylor family branch on your "Norwood-Hart family Tree". Betty would love to share some information with you, if you are willing her email is bettyandmoeaube@sympatico.ca . Myself, I'm related to the Taylor/Tylor family through marriage -- not blood. You've done some great work with your Norwood-Hart family tree it is very impressive. Thanks, Brian Beddor bbeddor@japsolson.com Hi Brian. I was so pleased to hear from you. My wife, Judith, is a granddaughter of Bertha May. James George Tylor has been a dead end in our family tree beyond the date when he and Annie Louisa married. I am happy to exchange information with Betty, and to cc my emails to you if you'd like that. I have a number of relevant family photographs which I've not yet put on Ancestry. A number of family trees mention the Nova Scotia link, but I've been sceptical because none identify a source. Just last week I considered removing the Canadian origin I have recorded for this reason. Regards Lou Norwood loun@iinet.net.au So here's the connection: Captain Matthew Taylor and Elizabeth Archibald had a son John (b 2 Jun 1752, d 5 Mar 1843) who married Agnes (sometimes called Nancy) Archibald (b 15 Mar 1756, d 21 Dec 1816) on 10 Aug 1782. John and Agnes/Nancy had a son named Matthew (b 5 Nov 1793, d 21 Feb 1858) who married Margaret "Peggy" Fisher (b 2 Feb 1802, d 22 Oct 1890) on 5 Apr 1827. Matthew and Peggy had 5 children (I think) and one of them was James George Taylor (b abt 1824, d 27 Jan 1911 in Western Australia). Why James George went to Australia is a bit of a mystery that was in the days when lots of convicts from England were sent there. (One speculation and it is just a speculation is that James George went to England and got in trouble and was sent to Australia.) It appears that once in Australia James George changed the spelling of his name to "Tylor". He was married twice there: 1st wife was Julia Long (b abt 1 Jan 1841) on 20 Jun 1861) and they had at least one daughter Zela Matilda Gertrude (b 1862, d 17 Apr 1921). They may have had a son named Fred but there is some question on that. James George's 2nd wife was Annie Louise Toovey (d 1937) and they were married about 1882. They appear to have had 5 children. I'm attaching a couple little reports that might help. I've not kept up with this branch of the Taylors and so some of this information might be out-of-date. Your "cousin", Brian
