James McGregor to Mary McDonald, daughter of Duncan McDonald of that place, on the twelfth day of September one thousand eight hundred and seven. Registered the tenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and nine, By Wentworth Taylor, Settlement Clerk. Hi - my Taylor ancestor was Matthew Taylor, Esq., b.1690 in Londonderry City. County Londonderry, Ulster, N. Ireland who emigrated to New Hampshire, USA (Londonderry,Rockingham County) and died there in 1770. His son, Matthew Taylor was born there in 1727, and his son Archibald Taylor, took the family to St. Mary's in Nova Scotia, Canada, where he married a second wife, Mary MacDonald in Pictou County, Nova Scotia in 1807. Their son, John William Taylor, was my great grandfather, b. about 1818, and his son John William Taylor, Jr. was my grandfather, b. 1873 in Guysborough County, Nova Scoatia. My present "brick wall" is to find information on the niece of my father, Munson Lindsay Taylor. His sister, Mary Ann Taylor, unmarried, had a daughter, Helen Taylor who was born about 1920 and raised from an early age by a William Russell Terris and his wife in Stellarton, Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Our last information on Helen was from her adoptive father's obituary in the early 1950's, at which time Helen came home to Stellarton, Nova Scotia from St. Louis, MO, USA for his funeral. Any assistance in locating information on Helen would be much appreciated. Ruth, at: patersr@quickclic.net http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~ai020/miller.html#Chapter%206
