Being a man of great cheerfulness he will be missed by many friends, who with the family are left to mourn his death. Jacob Schumacher was born on September 1, 1918, thus attaining the age of 86 years, five months and 17 days. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at Nichols, where the interment will be made. Finally someone said something familiar! Yes, I know what happened to him! Had the orneryest group of Schumachers you've ever met in your life! Gary Schumacher was my step-father (died a few years back) but his father, Harold Schumacher is still alive and well and kicking up his heels in Camanche, Iowa, just a few miles north of Muscatine. He married a woman named Doris (whom my mother called the mother-in-law from Hell, but we won't go there! :-) There are two other sons, Pat (the youngest) and Roger, who also lives in Clinton, Iowa. No daughters. Jacob was Harold's grandfather. I'll gladly help fill it in if you'd like. I'm going home in a few days to Clinton and it will give me an excuse to say hello to Harold and his new wife. (Doris died a fews years ago as well, not too long after Gary died). Happy Holidays!
