Note: John Taylor, eldest son of Matthew Taylor and Elizabeth his wife, and brother to Robert and William Taylor, was born in New Hampshire the 2nd day of June 1752 came with his father to Truro in Nova Scotia in 1762 was married in that Town the 10th of October 1782 to Agnes Archibald daughter of Samuel Archibald and Elener Taylor his wife by whom he had three sons and five daughters (See Register of Births); he settled with his family in St. Mary's in June 1805. John Taylor, b. 1752, was one of the Grantees of Truro Township, although only 14 at the time. He married his cousin, Nancy Archibald, a daughter of Samuel Archibald. John's farm was next to his father's and he later inherited that farm. In about 1802, they sold their Truro farm and moved to Saint Mary's. Nancy died around that time. In 1812 he sold that farm, moved up the East River and died some time after. They had three sons and five daughters (or four sons and six daughters?). Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Agness Archibald his wife, was born at Truro the fourth day of April one thousand seven hundred and eighty five. Wentworth Taylor, son of John Taylor and Agness his wife, was born at Truro the fourth day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven. Elenor Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Agness his wife, was born at Musquodoboit the tenth day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine. Jenny Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Agness his wife, was born at Stewiacke River the twenty second day of July one thousand seven hundred and ninety one. Matthew Taylor, son of John Taylor and Agness his wife, was born at Pictou the fifth day of November one thousand seven hundred and ninety three. Ephraim Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Agness his wife, was born at Pictou the fifth day of October one thousand seven hundred and ninety six. Agness Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Agness his wife, was born at Malignant Cove the nineteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight. Rebecca Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Agness his wife was born at Malignant Cove the twenty ninth day of September one thousand eight hundred. Rosannah Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Agness his wife, was born at Murray Harbor, Prince Edward Island, the fourth day of May one thousand eight hundred and three.
