Note:   The Warrenton Banner obituary published Friday, May 9th, 1913 "The subject of this sketch was born in Halifax county, Virginia, September 25, 1832, and came to Missouri when at the age of six years. He was married to Miss Martha Harmon in 1852, .....she died October 24, 1904. This union was blessed with eleven children as follows: Mrs. William Tesson, Nate Taylor, (Mrs.) Charles Skinner, Mrs. J. Cantwell, James, Robert, Ephthy, Sarah, Henry and Porter Taylor, and Mrs. Thos. Bishop. Three of the children died in infancy. He also leaves 46 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. The body was taken to Martinsburg (Audrain County) and laid to rest by the side of his companion."
