Note: Mrs. J. W. Miles, whose maiden name was Dicey Ann Standley, was born 23 Apr 1833 and was married to James D. Caskey 25 Nov 1849. Of this union three children were born, one daughter and two sons, only one of whom, W. S. Caskey, remains. her husband, Mr. Caskey, died 19 May 1855, and 20 Apr 1862 she was remarried to John W. Miles. Of this union nine children, five boys and four girls, were born, namely Jas. D., Thos. A., Chas. F., John L., Frank D. Miles, Mrs. Nannie Wooden, Mrs. Lillie Smith, Mrs. Belle Benson and Mrs. Elsie Robertson, all of whom are living except Charles, who died five years ago. When a girl 14 years of age she embraced the Christian religion and the remainder of her life lived a consistent Christian. She departed this life 23 May 1906, aged 72 and 1 month, leaving besides the children mentioned above, a husband, three brothers and three sisters: Jas F., Geo. J. B. Standley, Mrs. J.J. Henderson, Mrs. I. W. Graham, all of this county, and A. F. Johnson, of Emerson, IA, a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a large circle of friends to mourn her death. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Marshall, of Tina, at Rush Chapel, Friday, May 25, at 2 o'clock after which the remains were laid to rest in the Braden Cemetery.
