a. Note:   Evening Gazette-24 Jan 1900: Engineer Harry Bellew Caskey, aged nearly 38 years, died at his home, No. 155 Jersey Ave., at 10:15 this morning of consumption, after an illness of over a year. He had been confined to his bed since Thanksgiving Day 1899. Mr. Caskey was born in Meadville, PA and was a son of Clark Caskey and the late Emily Hazen Caskey. His parents moved to this village when he was about 10 years of age and he was educated in the public schools here. At the age of 19 he began his railroad career and during the time he worked in this capacity learned telegraphy. One year later he became telegraph operator which positioned he held until age 21 and bean firing(??) on the Erie. He has been an Erie Engineer for over 11 years, having been promoted and faithful employee of the Erie and a man of good heart and generous impulses. He married in Jan 1888, to Anna Hanners, d/o William & Myra Hanners, the former now deceased. he is survived by his wife and one daughter, Bessie, aged 10. His father and step-mother, Engineer and Mrs. Clark Caskey, of Port Jervis, and one brother, Mr. Bert S. Caskey, Engineer at the Knickerbocker Silver Plating Works, in Germantown, also survive him. He was a nephew of Mrs. Chas. I. Peck and Mrs. J.M. Snook. Case Funeral Home took care of the Burial arrangements. Cost was $60.
