Note: Waldo C. Caskey Dies Unexpectedly; Final Rites Held The death of Waldo C. Caskey, 63, of 40 Church Street, a shift foreman at pierce Glass Co., took place unexpectedly Monday morning (13 Dec 1965) as he was driving his car on Main St., returning from a hunting trip in the Wrights vicinity. Mr. Caskey was seen to slump over the wheel of his car after it had come to a stop at the Main-Arnold traffic light. His fall apparently depressed the accelerator causing the car to resume its movement. The vehicle subsequently jumped the curb and struck a tree on Main Street, on the Original Kitchen Inn property. Deputy McKean County Coroner, Leo Bouchard of Bradford attributed the death to a coronary occlusion. Mr. Caskey had left his home at 8 A.M. to go deer hunting on the first day of doe season. Born 26 Dec 1901, at Wrights, PA, a son of the late Fred & Effie Robbins Caskey, he was a lifelong resident of this area. On November 12, 1920 he was married to the former Lulu Reese who survives him. Mr. Caskey was a member of the First Methodist Church, and of Liberty Lodge No. 505 F & A.M. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Wood of Renssalear, NY and Mrs. Margaret Scripp of Buffalo, NY; a son, James Caskey, of Trafford, a retired commander of the US Navy; eight grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Winifred Ausderau of Niagara Falls, NY and Mrs. Gertrude LaButis of Buffalo, NY. Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Gallup Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph B. Kilburn of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in McKean Memorial Park at Lafayette. Pallbearers were, Herbert Witter, Howard Edgreen, Hugh Thompson, Clarence Ellison, Martin Sawyer and Cambridge Edgreen.
