a. Note:   1886 birth of daughter Catherine by wife Katie Brehany says he is 28 years of age and family living at 130 DeKalb.
There is also a newspaper article from the Aberdeen (South Dakota) Daily News in 1886 relating that W.T. Delihant was in town representing the W.P. Rend and Company, coal dealers. The article discusses the fact that Aberdeen is in need of coal, but had no railway as of yet. The coal is shipped up the Great Lakes to Duluth and then down to Aberdeen. Delihant also discusses the shortage of coal because of the lack of mining in order to keep the price up. December 6, 1886, page 4.
Chicago Daily Tribune (October 18, 1891, page 15) shows an add where W.T. Delihant is advising he is not longer working for the Peabody Coal company where he worked for the last five years and is now the city agent for the C.A. Weaver & Company located at 85 Washington Street near Dearborn, shippers of high grade coal.
