Notes
a. Note:   William is sometimes known as Walter. He also spelled the last name as Cullin and said this was the proper way of spelling. Lived in College Point, Long Island. He bought the house his sister Mary and her husband had lived in prior to the depression. Marion said that he almost lost the house and Mary loaned him money. Marion said that he was not so kind to Mary when she needed money and would not lend her any when the depression hit. Marion said that Mary was never close with her family after that. He also lived in Flushing, Long Island according to Marion. Marion believes he died from a heart condition when he was 44 to 48 years old. Marion says he was a mechanic and she knew him to use the name Walter.
1910 census shows he worked as a beer bottler and living at home.
On the 1915 New York State Census he was living with his mother Jennie and was listed as a plumber.
1917 he registered for WWI on June 5 under name Walter. His DOB is listed as June 8, 1892 and he was living at 163 Irving Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. States he was born in Brooklyn and his current occupation was electrician. He stated that he was single and was supporting his nephew and mother. Unknown who the nephew was if that's what it says. He was described as tall, slender, blue eyes, black hair.
1920 census shows family living at 89 India Street, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY (says he's 32 which would put DOB in 1888) same with Anna wife. He is using first name of Walter.
1930 Census shows family living at 258-50(?) Northern Boulevard. He is listed as having never been in the military and is the Proprietor of a garage. Shows he and Anna have been married for about 24 years. He was 18 and she 16 when they married. This would have them married about 1906, which is not true since Anna was previously married. They may have said this to explain the additional three children in the household.
The 1940 census does not list an occupation for any family members. They are living at 120-27 28th Avenue in College Point in Queens, New York.
1942 WWII registration card (45-64 year olds) lists his name as William T. Cullin and his DOB as June 8, 1891. He listed his wife as Anna Cullin. Shows he is 5'8" and 180 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair. He is unemployed.
He died at home from heart failure. Still living at address in College Point. Listed as an auto mechanic on death certificate. Date of birth is listed as 1891. His father's first name is listed as Stephen and his mother as Jennie Core. His death certificate says he was buried in St. John's however, he is actually buried in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.
