Sponsors: Henry Taube and his wife. This does not agree with a birth date of 26 May 1951 given by a Lutz family member. For Pittsburgh Guests - As a compliment to the Misses Clara and Mary Hoffmann of Pittsburgh, a corn roast and marshmallow toast was given at the Lutz farm on South Main St. The guests were: Ida Lutz, Rene Snyder, Minnie McNaugh, Agnes Lutz, Jane Gillen, Elizabeth Lutz, Frances Lawrence, Youngstown, Louise Collins, Cleveland, Frank Lutz, John Zipperer, Ed Snyder, Dan Lutz, Fred Henry, Carl Thumm, John Derrick, Geo. Lutz, Edwin Moyer, James Mally. In the pie eating contest Carl Thumm won first prize while the honors in the rowing contest went to John Zipperer. In the Trumbull Co. Rural Directory of 1915-1920 Catherine was listed as; Lutz, Catherine (widow) 8 ch, farmer O, 166a, 5h, 5c, R2 Warren War 55 This means she had 8 children, was a farmer, had 166 acres, 5 horses, 5 cows, and lived in the rural Warren area. She sold most of this farm to Trumbull Steel in 1916. She sold the remainder in 1917. In the 1919 Warren City Directory she was residing at 221 Hillsdale Ave. (This address is the same as James & Ida Rohan, Catherine's daughter.) In 1920 she moved to 207 Atlantic St. with her daughter, Agatha and son George. She died at home of bronchial asthma and heart trouble on Thursday, April 8th, 1926 at 11:50 A.M. Mrs. Catherine Lutz - An illness of five days with bronchial asthma and heart trouble terminated in the death of Mrs. Catherine Lutz, aged 75 years, widow of the late John Lutz, which occurred at her home at 207 West Atlantic St., Thursday at 11:50 a.m. Announcement of the death of Mrs. Lutz is received with deep regret in her neighborhood and by a large number of friends in the city. She was widely known here and was held in the highest regard. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, was active in the work of the Altar and Rosary Society and the League of the Sacred Heart, and was a devoted mother in her home. Mrs. Lutz is survived by nine children. Mrs. Joseph Cumer, Cannonsburg, Pa.; Mrs. Hugh Carr, Mrs. James Rohan, Warren; Frank and Henry Lutz, of Leavittsburg; Daniel Lutz, Newton Falls; Joseph Lutz, Lordstown; Miss Agatha and George Lutz, at home; twenty-nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two brothers, John and Peter Hoffmann, of Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be held in St. Mary's Church Monday morning at nine o'clock and interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery.
