February 12, 1997 - According to Cele Byrnes Lutz, Lizzie had a rather rough life. She married her husband Hugh Carr rather late in life and he was a bit of a drinker. They lost one home during the de- pression. They borrowed the money for a second home from John H. Hoffman (brother of Catherine Hoffman Lutz) and his wife Agnes. They missed a payment and John and Agnes Hoffman showed up at the door, announced that this was not a social visit and told her she would have to sell the house since she missed a payment.
