According to Lura Mardis Hall Granny Hall dipped snuff and, since she'd never before had money of her own was pretty tight with her social security money. Granny lived with Leonard and Lura for about four to five years before going to live with her daughter Vicie. Maggie removed her from Vicie's home and took her to her home, where Sarah Margaret was residing at the time of her death. 15 October 1999 - While at the home of Glenda Holmes Arther for a visit her brother Euehl recounted this story.....Chicken fighting used to take place in the woods across from the home of Robert and Sarah Margaret Hall. Margaret would make popcorn balls and Euehl (Gus) would take them to the site of the chicken fight and sell them for five cents each. He said the men at the chicken fight bought them right up.
