Note: Odell Bowen Roberts related the story of Mary Elizabeth meeting Silious Roberts. At the time she was working at her brother Marvin's sawmill and two men from Georgia showed up looking for a job. One of the men was Silious and they were on their way to California, working their way across the country. Apparently they both liked what they saw. She went home that evening and was dancing around chanting "I found my man, I found my man". Needless to say Silious didn't make it to California. From The Cullman Times - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Roberts - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Roberts, 73, Route 2, Cullman, will be at 1 p.m. today at Pentecost Church with interment at Fairview Methodist Cemetery.
