Notes
a. Note:   After Mary's husband died, she moved to Bristol, Maine to be with her parents. The area where they lived was the Harrington-Walpole area. She married Jonathan Knowlton in 1777 at Walpole Maine (Mass. at that time). Mary had four sisters who all married at Bristol, and then the five girls, their husbands and parents (Ebenezer Blunt and Lydia Francis) all pushed on to Farmington Falls, Maine in 1781. Jonathan Knowlton and Francis Tufts, husband of Sarah Blunt, were the founders of Farmington Falls, Maine. Mary is buried in the Blake Cemetery with her second husband Jonathan Knowlton. Information from letter sent to me December 3, 1984 from Mrs Raymond Lent a descendant of Mary Blunt Oakes Knowlton and Jonathan Knowlton. From Family and Local Histories: Biographical review : this volume contains biographical sketches of leading citizens of Franklin and Oxford Counties, Maine. Page 168 Mary married for her second husband Jonathan Knowlton, a native of Massachusetts, whom she met while he was on one of his trips to Maine, which he made by packet from Salem, being five months on his last voyage from that place to Hallowell. in 1780 Mr. and Mrs. Knowlton settled upon a tract of new land in Farmington.
