a. Note:   From Family and Local Histories: Biographical review : this volume contains biographical sketches of leading citizens of Franklin and Oxford Counties, Maine. Page 168 Marinda was a daughter of John Arnold of Augusta. She and her husband David reared four children, namely; David, who died at the age of twenty, Augusta, who is living at the present time (1897VDL), Alfred A., the subject of this sketch; and John. Marinda died April 5, 1855, aged forty-two years.
