Note: Notes for Enoch Swift: Hist. of Winthrop, Maine by E. S. Stackpole, 1925, pg 525: Enoch Swift, Jr. was born in Wareham, Mass, 29 Nov 1758. He came to Winthrop abt 1804 and settled in the westerly part of the town on the lot next north of that of Noah and Lafayette Chandler. When Mr. Swift came the westerly line of the town had not been established. Its settlement two or three years later left his dwelling in Wayne and the larger part of his land in Winthrop. He was a Revolutionary soldier. He was twice married. The name of his first wife and the mother of his children is not known. His second wife was Mrs. Elizabeth Wyman of Topsham. He was thrown from his wagon by a frightened horse and received such injuries that he died 21 Aug 1837. 8 ch. [of which, Esther b. 1789 m. 1804, John Frost]. Pg 149: He was a U.S. pensioner, application filed 11 July 1832. He d. in Wayne, 2 Aug. 1837, and was buried in Evergreen Cem., Wayne. No headstone and the spot of burial .
