a. Note:   Notes for Elnathan Swift: Winthrop by Stackpole, 1925, pg 625: Elnathan Swift, son of Enoch, born in Wareham, Mass., 9 Jan 1780, came to Winthrop about 1803. He settled in 1805 on the easterly part of the lot on which his father lived. His dwelling was on the highway (now abandoned) that led from the back road to N. Monmouth over Pisgah ridge to the highway leading past the house of the late John Frost. His neighbors on the hill were Gideon Dexter, Barnabas and Jesse Wing. He married Polly Lord of Wayne. In 1832 he moved to Sidney and died 30 March 1863. 1850 Census, Maine: In 1850 Elnathan, farmer with $90 worth of personal property, and Mary, 67. were living in household 184 at Sidney, Maine. Gr-gr-granddaughter of Enoch Swift, Jr. (1758-1837) and Olive Wing, his wife, m. 1780. Gr-gr-gr-granddaughter of Enoch Swift and Esther Sampson, his wife, m. 1757. Enoch Swift was a corporal in Capt. David Nye's company, 1776, Plymouth County regiment, and his son Enoch served as private in the same company, and was born in Wareham; died in Wayne.
