Note: Notes for John Frost: Frost Genealogy in Five Families by Norman Seaver Frost, 1926, pg 44: 3441.12. JOHN FROST, son of Samuel and Ann, born Aug. 3, 1779; m. Esther Swift, intentions May 25, 1804. He settled near Mt. Pisgah. The writer has no record of the death of his wife Ester, nor the date of his second marriage to Mrs. Lucy Bates. He died Sept. 13, 1862. History of Winthrop, by E. S. Stackpole, 1925, pg 391" "John, son of Samuel Frost, b. 3 Aug 1779 lived in that part of Wayne later annexed to Winthrop on the same farm on the western slope of Mt. Pisgah on which the late Thaddeus R. Frost spent the later years of his life. He m. 1804, Ester, dau. of Enoch Swift, a near neighbor. She d. 5 Jan 1852. He m. (2) 1853, Mrs. Lucy Bates. She d. 17 Dec 1854, aged 54 yrs 8 mos. He d. 13 Sept. 1862. The list of his children is incomplete." 1850 Census, Maine: in 1850 John, farmer with $1000 personal property, and Esther were living in household 42 at Wayne, Maine, along with their daughters Ester and Harriet Hammond. Hist. of Wayne, Maine, 1898, pg 204: John Frost, an early settler, lived in the Chandler neighborhood (now Winthrop, Maine). He had nine children. His son Levi was long a resident of North Wayne.
