Note: Notes for Eliakim Foss: 1850 Census, Maine: In 1850 Eliakim, carpenter with $1200 worth of personal property, and Mercy, 46, were living in household 236 at Wayne, Maine, along with his children Russell, mason, Clarissa A., 16, Hellen, 13, and William H. H., 9. Hist. of Wayne, Maine, 1898, Maine Farmer Publishing Co., Augusta, Me., pg 203: Eliakim Foss was the brother of Asa Foss. He married Achsa Wing, daughter of Dr. Moses Wing. Their children were Russell S. and Achsa Wing. His second wife was Mercy Swift, by whom he had three children, Clarissa Ann, Helen Marr and William H. His home was in Wayne village. His two story house stood on the site now occupied by the house in which Ward Howard Lives.
