At the time of her death, she was living on her s on G eorge's homestead, as he had married and moved to Loretto, Minnesot a. S he died at her home on January 19, 1912, and is buried in the Stant on ceme tery in an unmarked grave. Florence Nelson says that it is just be low Conv erse Monument. She also remembers that as it was the middle of wi nter, t he body being taken to the cemetery by horses and sled. Her son sa id she l ived a quiet life and found her pleasure in her own home. She bel ong ed to the baptist church all her life, and was a firm believer in pra ye r. Her granddaughter Lydia Dreveskracht also remembered that she sm ok ed a corncob pipe. Note: Lydia M. Youmans was born in Morrisville, New York, December 20, 1 83 9, and died at her home south of Stanton on Friday, January 19, 19 12 fr om old age. Interment was made in the Stanton cemetery on Monday, Ja nua ry 22. The deceased was married in the year 1859 to William D. Brow n. To t his union nine children were born, eight of whom are still livin g. She w as united with the Baptist church when nine years old and remain ed tr ue to that faith through life. She lived a quiet life and found h er pleasu re in her own home. She did not believe in flaunting her virtu es before t he world and society, but was a firm believer in the pow er of prayer. Y es she was our mother, and although she is gone, her influ ence will alwa ys be felt and her pleasant smile and kind words of prai se and admoniti on will linger long in our memory. ----------------------- ---- George C.
