Mr George E. Davis, aged 79 years, died on Sunday, December 25th, at eig ht p.m., at Catonsville. The body was taken to Wilmington, Delaware, a nd interment made at Silverbrook Cemetery at noon on Wednesday of this wee k. Mr Davis is survived by a widow, four sons and one daughter. The wid ow is now living with one of the sons, Mr John I. Davis at Clifton Forg e, VA. The other sons are Messrs. William Davis, living at Federalsbur g; Artemas and Charles F. Davis at Wilmington. The daughter, Mrs Em ma D. Hawn, lives near Burlington, N. J. Mr Davis was for many years a re sident of Preston, moving to Ridgely and thence to Gettysburg, PA. He w as a member of the M. E. Church of Preston, but later transferred his memb ership to the M. E. Church at Choptank, of which he was one of the founder s, and where he often filled the pulpit as a local minister.
