Presideing is Judge Lewis A. Gilbert. The case grows o ut of all eged assault in Troupsburg September 23, 1949. Irene Mill er of Troupsburg [s/be Springwater] has brought the action against A. Re ed Miller of Spring water[s/be Troupsburg]. Attorney Albert E. Reed Miller of Troupsbur g. The ju ry of seven men and five women returned the verdict to Judge Le wis A. Gilb ert at 2:10pm after having deliberated since 11:48am. Miss Mi ller, who li ves at Springwater, was awarded the sum for personal injuri es allegedly su stained after her brother had ordered her out of his Troup sburg farm hous e. She contended he struck her. [Note: This judgement was not paid, as Reed hastily sold the double Mi ll er farm in Troupsburg at a give-away-price, and he and Anna left f or Po rt Allegany, McKean Co., PA with his brother, Joe and wife Clarin da Mill er who lived on the adjoining farm.
