Mrs Elmer Downey passed away at her home in Wileysvi lle, S unday night, March 26, 1939, at 11:55 o'clock, aged 72 years. Luci nda Her rington was born on May 7, 1866 at Troupsburg, NY..a daughter of A aron a nd Annie Styles Herrington. She was united in marriage to Elmer Do wn ey on July 26, 1884 and to them 12 children were born. Four children p rec eded their mother in death: John, Edward, William and Myra (Mrs Hen ry Tra cy). Besides her husband she is survived by 8 children: Joe of Wh itesvil le; Frank of Wileysville; Harrison of Homer, NY; Milo of Whites Co rner s; Charles of Wileysville; Corene Drachler of Buffalo; Rose Downey a nd An ne Sherman of Wileysville. Also 8 grandchildren. The 53 years a nd mo re of their married life were spent by Mr & Mrs Downey on the homes te ad at Wileysville, with the exception of one year in Whitesville and o ne y ear in Harrison Valley. Private funeral services were held from t he la te home, Wednesday, March 29, 1929 at 2pm, with burial in the Whit es Corne rs Cemetery. Rev W. E. Windsor of Wellsville officiated.
