Notes
a. Note:   Her parents are said to be from Alsace-Lorraine, Germany. Alsace is now in Eastern France - 275 miles from Paris located right in the heart of Europe. It is flanked on one side by the Voges Mtns. and on the other by the Rhine river and the Black Forest.
Once upon a time, Alsace belonged to the German Empire and only became French under Louis the XIV. Germany annexed it twice again between 1870-1918 and 1940-1945.
When she died in a fall down the family house stairs in 1916 she lost her baby Terrence. Because the father was in the military, the five oldest children were put into an Orphanage, St Mary's Training School at Des Plaines Illinois, where they stayed till they were eighteen years old. The youngest, Ruth, was adopted by the "Woodworths"
She is buried at Greenwood Cemetery. North West Leonard St. Grand Rapids MI.
Last Known Address: 1247 Fredrick St, which is now: 1239 Valley Ave. Grand Rapids MI.
5/31/99: I spoke with daughter Ruth today. We spoke for about 1 1/2 hours. What a fantastic lady she is. She is 84 yrs and sounds like she is ready to run the Boston Marathon. See notes on Ruth.
