Note: Alice was found on the June 1860 census of Eddyville, Lyon Co. KY. At that time she was about 2-3 months old. The next time I find her is in the 1880 Census of Du quoin, Perry Co. Ill. She is listed as being 20 yrs. old and a servant in the Seikman Household. I would have to wait another 20yrs, then I find her in the 1900 Census of Chicago, Ill.

Ruth Kavanagh told me that Alice, husband John and the children were in the horse and buggy on the way from Perry Co, Ill to Chicago and they had to stop overnight as they were done traveling for the day. When Alice woke in the morning, husband John was gone and never heard from again. Ruth, as a child, age 1-2 was sleeping in the same bed when Alice died in her sleep. This was about 1916. It is believed Alice re-married Harry Schiffer.
