Note: Nehemiah Burgess was married to Sophia Woodman at Southport, now Kenosha, by Jason Lathrop, Pastor of the Baptist Church as is recorded in Racine County vital records Volume 1, page 102. Birth information from Esther M. Culwell, great grand-daughter of Nehemiah. In 1867, Nehemiah and his wife moved to Gage County, Nebraska. He and his wife (Sophia) are buried in a small country cemetery about 14 miles northwest of Beatrice, Nebraska, and three miles east of DeWitt, Nebraska.
