But during the dust bowl or depression years, farming in Kansas was poor. Their son Dale had gone to Pennsylvania and found everything green and lush, and the farming good, so in 1940 they took their family and moved to Lake City, Pennsylvania where he farmed for twenty-three years. OBITUARY - THE COSMOPOLITE HERALD Mr. Edgar Richardson Died January 18, 1963 Edgar Richardson, 107 Elk Street, Lake City, died Friday, January 18, 1963, at his home at the age of seventy-two, after an extended illness. He was born in DeWitt, Nebraska, on July 17, 1890, a son of Henry and Julia Richardson. He had been a farmer in the Lake City area for 23 years and had lived in Lake City for the two years prior to his death. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Johnson Richardson, three daughters, Mrs. Hector (Gail) Levitre and Mrs. Harold (Janet) Vorse, both of Lake City; and Mrs. Merle (Maxine) Rounds of McKean; two sons, Dale, Girard; and Leo, Waterford; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and five brothers and four sisters all of the middlewest. Friends called at the Mulligan Funeral Home in Girard, where services were held on Monday. Rev. Harold Burnes, of the Lake City Methodist Church, where Mr. Richardson was a member officiated. Burial was in East Springfield Cemetery, Bearers were Darrell Richardson, David Richardson, Walter Rounds, Gerald Rounds, Larry Smith and Jerry Cox.
