Lucille said on his Will his name is spelled Burlen. She said that people always knew him as: B. B. Babb. She doesn't know why he went by Burlen B. Babb, son of William and Louisa Jenkins Babb, was born March 3, 1888, in Irving, Kentucky and passed away near Eskridge, Kansas August 25, 1958. He had attained the age of 70 years, 5 months, and 22 days. Mr. Babb had engaged in farming near Eskridge for the last 10 years and is survived by his wife, Gertie, of the home; three sons, two daughters, one step son and three step daughters; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Boehm of Howard, Kansas, and Mrs. Amanda Huff of Hutchinson, Kansas. A number of other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Austin Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28. Rev. Guy D. Casey was minister and Mrs. Grace Loveland, organist. Musical selections were: "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden". Casket bearers were Clynt Smith, Roland McKnight, Carl Bower, Calvin Immenschuh, Joe Bower, and Max Martin. Interment was made in the Eskridge Cemetery.
