OBITUARY [from The Clinton Advocate, Thursday, January 14, 1886] Mrs. Reeder, wife of the well-known cooper of Coalsburg, died this morning at that place and will be buried tomorrow in Park's graveyard, southeast of Coalsburg. The lady was aged 60 years and leaves a family of 7 children mostly grown, who will be present at the funeral. From the DEATH RECORDS in the Genealogy Library of the Henry County Historical Society in Clinton, Missouri. C. Brownfield, Coalsburg, MO. **Correction: Her age at death was actually, 58 years 1 day. On both the death record and the news article about her death, the name is spelled (REEDER). Comfort's granddaughter, Edna Reader Gildersleeve, says that Comfort's family was of Pennsylvania stock. She, also, remembers being told that Comfort had a bad stomach ache but kept going. Finally she took a dose of castor oil and soon died. Years later, the family decided she had probably died from appendicitis.
