Earlville Review, Thursday, Jan. 18, 1940 OBITUARY: Mrs. Hattie Richardson Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 1:30 this (Thursday) afternoon for Mrs. Hattie Richardson, 73, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Dettbarn, Tuesday evening. Hattie Ham, daughter of John and Sarah Ham, was born May 14, 1867, south of Earlville, Iowa, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Dettbarn, on January 15th, at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 1 day, having been in poor health for the past three years. On October 21, 1886, she was united in marriage with David A. Richardson, who passed away Feb. 3, 1933. To them was born one daughter, Effie, now Mrs. Ernest Dettbarn. Mr. and Mrs. Richardson lived for three years in South Dakota and 15 years in Missouri. The rest of her life was spent in this community. She was a member of the Earlville Methodist Church. Mrs. Richardson is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Dettbarn; two grandchildren, Lawrence Dettbarn, and Leona, now Mrs. Raymond Seward; one great-granddaughter, Alberta Mae Dettbarn; one sister, Mrs. Ella Curry of Earlville, and one half-brother, Henry Merrick of Spokane, Washington, as well as other relatives and friends.
