I descend from James Ramsey ARMSTRONG (1787 PA - 1874 Kentucky) and Mary D. RICHARDSON (1790 Kentucky - 1871 Kentucky) who m. 9 Sept. 1813 Mercer Co, Kentucky. I own his family Bible and have the names, birthdates and marriages of his eleven children. Their fifth child (not my ancestress) was Mary Jane ARMSTRONG, b. 9Dec. 1822 Mercer Co, Kentucky; d. 23 Mar 1862, buried Perryville Cemetery, BoyleCo, Kentucky. She m. 31 July 1845 Boyle Co, Kentucky to Finley L. McGINNIS, who m(2)16 Dec 1862 Martha TUCKER and had a son Arthur. Finley and Mary Jane had children Martha Ann "Mattie" who m. JamesCOMINGO, Susan Belle who m. John W. KIRK, Mary Frances who m. William SweenyWIGHAM, Emeline/Emily, William Harvey "Harve", Sarah A., and Rosella orRosetta T. Census records show Adarene b.ca 1853 who may have been the same asSarah A. As I said, I don't know much about this branch of my Armstrongs, but would like to know more. I've theorized that Finley was s/o William McGINNIS, b. ca 1790 Kentucky,and Patsy McGINNIS whom he m. 1818. But I have no documentation.
