Note: Allen County KY--Free Births 1852-1861 Child: Alanson, Mary C. Birthdate: 7/7/52 Sex: f Father: J.B. Alaissan Mother: R. Thompson Birthplace: Sulpherfork Louise, Perhaps we can help each other with this line. I am not actually an Alderson descendant, but I have many collateral lines that married into the Alderson lines from several different branches (hence, my interest in the Alderson families). I may or may not have parents listed for Mary (depending on when she was born) but will be able to give you the families to look into. Mary may have been the sister of George G Alderson, born July 1849 in Kentucky. He married William C Young's sister, Rachel A Young, (dau of Chesney Young and Elizabeth Stafford). I have not been able to connect him to a positive family either, but since they both married siblings of the Young family, it may be a possbility that they, too, are siblings. Chesney Young was my ggg grandfather. I am a descendant of him and his first wife, Rachel Lewis. Now, most of the Alderson's that connect to my line, connect through my Rider line. If you can bear with me, I'll try to be brief so that you can see how the Rider/Alderson/Young lines connect. Sarah Young, (my gg grandmother) married Samuel B Rider. Sarah was also a daughter of Chesney Young (mother, Rachel Lewis). Samuel Rider was the son of George Rider and Ailsa Bush who moved to MO around 1834 from Sumner Co, TN. The Alderson connection comes in through the Bush and Boren lines. Ailsa was the daughter of William Burgess Bush and Anna Jane Boren. Ailsa had a sister named Lucinda Bush, b Feb 15, 1816 in Kentucky who married James C Alderson in KY about 1840. James was the son of William M "Buck" Alderson (Dec 19, 1795 (SC)-Apr 10 1861(MO) and Margaret A "Peggy" Boren" (Dec 19 1794, (SC)-Nov 28 1874, (Johnson Co, KS). Margaret Boren was a niece of Ailsa Bush. Anyway, these families all left Simpson Co, KY and Sumner Co, TN and traveled together to MO and most settled around the Belton, Cass Co, MO area. As far as I know, they were the only Alderson clans in the area. I've worked on this line off and on for the past 6 months but haven't really had time to do much lately, as I'm building a new home and just moved from my old house to a temporary residence this past weekend. I suspect that Mary Alderson and possibly George, may be descended from one of the children of William M Alderson and Margaret A Boren. Here is a list of their known children: John B, b 1815, Simpson Co, KY, married Dec 23, 1822, Allen Co, KY to Ruth Thompson, d in Cass County, MO Nancy P, b 1816-1817m KY, married ? Hendricks (There were several Hendricks/Rider marriages) James C, b Jan 31, 1818, Simpson Co, KY, m abt 1840 in KY to Lucinda Bush, d Feb 25, 1856 in Cass Co, MO Ersin A, b abt 1820, Simpson Co, KY, m Jan 11 1851 in Cass Co, MO to Mary E Cummins Benedict, b abt 1822 in Simpson Co, KY David A, b abt 1824 in Simpson Co, KY, married Jan 18 1891, Cass Co, MO to Maud Adams Peter Hendrix, b Jan 25, 1828, Simpson Co, KY, married DEc 29, 1870, Simpson Co, KY to Louisa Dye, d Jan 7 1884, Cass Co, MO Jane, b abt 1830, Simpson Co, KY, married Dec 11, 1859, Cass Co, MO to William H Brady Vincient, b abt 1832 in Simpson Co, KY, married Jan 1 1860, Elizabeth J Bairn Chadewin, Cass Co, MO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------- I do have Mary Kate Alderson, b abt 1838 in KY. She was the daughter of John B Alderson and Ruth Thompson (listed above). I don't have a marriage for her, but do know that they were living in MO when her father died. I have Ruth dying in Allen Co, KY 1855-1856. I am assuming that they did not move to MO until after her death as all the children were born in KY. I don't have much on this line, but here goes: Other children of John and Ruth were: William B, b 1836, m abt 1860 to Nancy J Butts C. J., (male), b abt 1837 Mary Kate, b abt 1838 Nancy Ann, b Sept 14 1838, m 1860, Preston C Boren, d July 14, 1904, Bates Co, MO (Preston connects with the same Boren line) Thomas C, b abt 1841 James, b abt 1842 J, (Male), b abt 1842 J. Elmore, b abt 1844, d 1918 R., (male), b abt 1847 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ Do you know when Mary was born? This might help me eliminate some possible parents and compare other possibilities not listed here. Do you have any information on William C Young? Did he leave Mary as a widow or was there a divorce and do you have anything that you can share on their son, Alfred? I live in Cass county and would be willing to help you with this. Reading your letter again, I am thinking that Mary Catherine and Mary Kate are probably the same person if the birthdates add up. If so, I can share additional information on the Boren/Bush lines of which you would be a direct descendant of. Let me know.
