a. Note:   No record of death can be found for Sallie. She is listed as buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, MO, but no birth or death date listed and only the base of the Headstone remains. Oct. 30, 2013: I called Woodlawn Cemetery (816-325-7365) and visited with Mike Hicks. He checked for records on Sarah and found none. He said that the old building at the cemetery where the records were housed burned in Nov. 1896 so they have no records prior to 1897. An old photo album in my possession has these hand written words beneath a missing picture. Born: March 9, 1820 --- Died February 20, 1894 It is my belief that these are the birth and death dates for Sarah C. Vanarsdall/Armstrong, but I have been unable to prove it. August 2008: I contacted the Court House in Independence, MO and had them check for probate records on a Sarah Armstrong. I thought perhaps that would be a way of learning her date of death. They did have a Sarah Armstrong whose probate was filed September 11, 1899, however in reviewing the contents of those records it was not the same Sarah Armstrong. The 1850 census lists her as Sarah, age 28, born in KY The 1860 census lists her as Sallie, age 40, born in KY The 1870 census lists her as Sarah, age 50, born in KY The 1880 census lists her as Sallie, age 59, born in KY
