Armstrong, (SEAL) December 5, 2002 -- I called the Boyle County Public Library and requested copies of obituaries for James Ramsey Armstrong and Mary D. Armstrong. I received the following reply: Dear Ms. Havens, I just finished searching the 1870-1875 microfilm roll for the Danville Advocate but I did not find an obituary for either of your relatives that you mentioned. In those years, the paper was a weekly and it was only about 4 pages long. Between major news stories and a smattering of obituaries for major community figures, I didn't see any obituaries as we'd expect to find them today. I'm very sorry that I didn't have any success for you. Thanks for contacting us. Don Rightmyer Reference Librarian Boyle County Public Library
