Note: Willard Morris remembers his grandfather, "Frank" Poole, telling him about how he worked for the railroad in Colorado so that he could make enough money to buy a farm. When he thought he had enough money, he walked all the way from Colorado to Elk Co., KS. At night, as he stopped to sleep, he would hide his money, in case someone came upon him sleeping they could not rob him of his money. One day after he was on his way, he remembered that he had forgotten his money, so he had to turn around and retrace his steps. Luckily, his money was still where he had hidden it.
