Her daughter Frances was raised by her parents. FUNERAL CARD DIED---Lilly May Dewitt, September 10, 1901. Lilly May Royse was born in Elk County, Kansas, July 22, 1875. She grew to womanhood and was married to James M. Dewitt in the home where she was born, on September 19, 1897. To them were born two children, who with the bereft husband survive the mother. As a daughter Mrs. Dewitt was ever kind and obedient. As a wife and mother she was loving and dutiful. The funeral services were held at the home, Wednesday, the 11th, conducted by Rev. Wm. Simons. 'Tis hard to break the tender cord, When love has bound the heart, 'Tis hard, so had to speak the works We must forever part. Dearest loved one we must lay three In the peaceful grave's embrace, But they memory will be cherished 'Till we see they heavenly face.
