Note: The Ida Post Office was established the week ending April 5, 1873. Hiram C. Royse was named postmaster of Ida from March 2, 1874 until January 29, 1878 and Postmaster of Cuba from Aprill 2, 1880 until January 11, 1881. 1880 Census Richland Township, Republic County, Kansas ROYSE, H. C., self, m/w, 35, IN IN IN, Druggist ______, Julia, wife, f/w, IA IN IN ______, Olive S., daughter, f/w, 1 KS IN IA ______, Julia, daughter, f/w, 2/12, KS IN IA Affidavit of Death State of Kansas Republic County In the Probate Court in and for said County In the matter of the Estate of H.C. Royse late of said County, deceased. On this 15 day of March A.D. 1888, personally appeared before me, the undersigned Judge of said Court William L Thomas who being by me duly sworn, according to law, doth upon his oath despose and say that H.C. Royse died on the third day of August A.D. 1887 Jefferson County Nebraska; that to the best of his knowledge and belief, the names and places of residence of the heirs of said the decease are as follows, to-wit: Julia Royse - Widow Rep. Co. Kas. Olive Royse - " Pearl Royse -" Minnie Royse -" Frank Royse -" and that the deceased died without a will, as affiant verily believes. And he further states that the said H.C. Royse died, siezed and possesed of real and personal estate, consisting chiefly of Ten (10) acres of school land in Albion Tp. Rep. Co. Kas. all of said estate being estimated to be worth about one hundred dollars. Your petitioner would therefor respectfully pray that your Honor will grant Letters of Administration to Julia Royse. William L. Thomas Subscribed and sworn to before me, the day and year first above written.
