Note: OBITUARY--the Miner News, Friday, Feb. 14, 1896 DIED - Mrs. M. Friend died at her home two miles northwest of town Tuesday morning, after a long illness. The funeral was conducted by Rev. H. B. Montgomery at the home yesterday forenoon, and the burial was at Gaines Cemetery. Susan Wilson was born in Augusta, Bracken County, Kentucky. Had she lived until the 25th of this month she would have been seventy years old. She was married to Michael Friend at Chillicothe, Ohio and the couple have traveled the path of life together for forty years. Four children were born to them, one son having died and another being out west. The husband and one son and daughter may find comfort in the thought that they were permitted to stand by her bedside and administer every want and comfort and cheer her until death relieved her. She united with the Methodist Church when a young girl, has always lived an exemplary, consistent life, and was always cheerful, true and kind to all. Not confirmed but could be the possible father of Susan Wilson: 1830 United States Federal Census of Bracken County Kentucky lists 4 Wilson families: Robert Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Jacob Wilson and John Wilson. The only one showing a daughter Susan's age was a Robert Wilson 1-male age 40-50 1-male age 10-15 1-female age 30-40 1-female age 15-20 1-female age 10-15 2-females age 5-10 2-females age 0-5 There was no Robert Wilson family living in Bracken County Kentucky in 1840, however there was this Robert Wilson family living in Hocking Township, Fairfield County, Ohio in 1840. Robert Wilson 1-male age 50-60 1-male age 20-30 1-male age 15-20 1-female age 60-70 1-female age 20-30 1-female age 15-20 1-female age 10-15 There was no Robert Wilson family living in Hocking Township, Fairfield County, Ohio in 1850. The Robert, Jacob & John Wilson families living in Ross County, Ohio in 1850 did not have a daughter Susan. There was no Thomas Wilson in Ross County, Ohio in 1850.
