Married 2nd of August 1900. Died 7th of June 1946. I notice from the records that Edna sent me , it shows my mother as Emma May Reader. On her Marriage Certificate it is Emma Bell Reader, and all of her legal papers show Emma Bell, also her death certificate. I have Grandmother Ballard's line back to Ireland to 1700." OBITUARY--Auburn Globe New's, Wednesday, June 12, 1946 Mrs. Emma Ballard Dies, Buried Here Monday Mrs. Emma Belle Ballard, a resident of Auburn for the past 32 years, died at her home Friday. Mrs. Ballard was 76 years of age at the time of her death. She was born in Peoria, Illinois, December 18, 1869. Last rites were held for Mrs. Ballard at the Scott-Price Memorial Chapel Monday afternoon with Rev. R. W. Maulden officiating. Burial was made in Mt. View cemetery under the direction of Del B. Price. Among the survivors are her four sons, George W. and Marion of Auburn, Dewey of Ellensburg and Herbert of Seattle, a sister, Mrs. Elnora Foster of Chetopa, Kansas, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Note: Emma was 3 years old in the 1870 census records, which indicates she was born in 1866 not 1869. Her brother, Albert, was born in February 1870, so she could not have been born in December 1869. Also, Emma was 12 years old in the 1880 census records, indicating she may have been born in 1867.
