Rev. Ditterline of the M.E. Church, South, of Elm Springs officiated. The bride was attired in white and wore a bouquet of Narcissus. There were present at the Wedding the brother and sisters of the bride and Misses Lela Aaron and Nellie Cox. A two-course luncheon followed the ceremony. The groom formerly resided in Springdale and has many friends here. The bride has been employed for the past nine years as teacher in the rural schools, where she was very successful and won many friends by her winsome ways. The young couple left for Floral on the 3:20 train, where they will make their home. They will stop in Cabool, Mo., for a few days' visit. May the young couple take with them through life's journey all the happiness and prosperity their many friends can wish them. Havens, of 0334 Massachusetts, died at 1:07 a.m. Tuesday at Newton Memorial hospital, where he had been admitted Monday. He was born Jan. 5, 1895 in Washington County, Ark., the son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Havens. He was brought to the Eaton community when 1 year old. The family later moved to the Wilmot community and since 1944 he had lived in Winfield. He was married to Mary Huffmaster on April 20, 1921, at Fayetteville, Ark. She died Jan. 6, 1958. Survivors include 2 sons, Sherman of Arvin, Calif., and John of Winfield; a brother, Bert Havens, Wilmot, and 7 grandchildren. He retired 3 years ago after service as a grain inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was known to many as an old-time fiddler, especially at the time of the Kansas Centennial. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Swisher-Taylor funeral home. FUNERALS: Winfield Daily Courier, Wednesday, October 21, 1964 Services for Charlie N. Havens will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Swisher-Taylor chapel with Rev. Joe R. Kennedy Officiating. Interment will be in the Tisdale cemetery. Music was presented by Lester Hogue, soloist, and Mrs. Charles Vasey, organist. Honorary bearers were E. R. Combs, Don Kennedy, E. E. Mosier, W. A. Flower, Vincent Norton and Ted Elliott. Active casket bearers were Wesley Parkerson, Jr., Paul Shephard, Bill Sturm, Charles Kelly, Cecil Kelly and Olen Howe. Interment was in Tisdale cemetery.
