Note:   OBITUARY--Washington News, November 1, 1888 Mrs. Mary Bayler departed this life at her late residence in this place, on Wednesday afternoon, October 21st, aged 67 years, 3 months and 7 days. She was born in Franklin County, Ohio, July 17, 1820 and was the oldest of six children three sons and three daughters of whom only two, a brother and a sister, now remain. She was married to Mr. John Bayler on February 2, 1828 and removed with her husband to this place in the spring of 1839. She was a mother of nine children, four of whom, one son and three daughters, survive her. She leaves twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Having lived in this place for very nearly fifty years, she was very widely known, and having always been a warm hearted friend and a kind neighbor, she was highly esteemed by all who know her. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and was remarkable sustained throughout a protracted illness by an unwavering faith, and cheered by a bright Christian hope. She passed away in peace. The funeral service was held at the house and was attended by a large concourse of her old acquaintances who mourned her departure and desired to pay a tribute of respect to her memory. Burial was in the Glendale Cemetery. This obituary has her date of birth was July 17, 1820 and her death date as October 21, 1888. The Glendale Cemetery records has her date of birth as July 17, 1821 and her death date as October 24, 1888. Not sure which is correct.
